One example when MGR returned from America in 1974 there was 2 lakhs people waiting to welcome him and ticket sold on that day in the Airport was 25000 that is one year collection in one day. A question will arise how it is possible that 2 lakh people went inside the Airport, only a part of them went inside the Airport and the entrance fees collected on that particular day is Rs.25000. One year collection of Airport entrance fees was Rs.25000. The same one year collection came in one single day, that is the day when MGR returned from America in 1974.

This month Urimai Kural MGR magazine features the movies of 1977. The year 1977 saw the only Tamil Actor exalted to the position of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

The Editorial condemns the behaviour of various Tamil Channels in mimicking MGR characteristics.

The movies released in 1977 are Navarathinam, Indru Pol Endrum Vazhga and Meenava Nanban.
